Source deductions
CPP, EI, QPIP and federal and provincial income tax are calculated for each employee on every pay run.
Settlements, IFTA, factoring and fuel cards live in your accounting, not in spreadsheets.

Remittance due: Nov 15
CPP, EI, QPIP and federal and provincial income tax are calculated for each employee on every pay run.
Dispatchers, mechanics and office staff are paid from the same payroll as your company drivers.
Track what you owe CRA for source deductions on each remittance, so the payment is ready by the due date.
Produce T4 and T4A slips, the T4 Summary and Records of Employment when someone leaves.
Year-end slips come with a T619 XML file that you upload to CRA yourself.
For US staff and contractors, produce W-2 and 1099-NEC forms and keep a 1099 roster. Forms only; you file them.
You need a CRA payroll program account number, the 15-character business number ending in RP. TruckerPro uses it on remittances and slips. If you do not have one yet, register with CRA before your first pay run.
TruckerPro calculates and records pay and deductions. You pay employees and remit to CRA from your own bank. Employee pay is not paid through TruckerPro and is not part of the EFT file runs, which cover vendors and contractors.
Not every driver is an employee. Owner-operators and incorporated drivers are paid through settlements and receive T4A or 1099-NEC slips where those apply. Employees go through payroll with source deductions and a T4.
Keeping both in one system means the year-end picture is complete: every person you paid has the right slip, and nobody is missed because they were in a different spreadsheet.
