Settlements, IFTA, factoring and fuel cards live in your accounting, not in spreadsheets.

Driver settlements

Settle with every driver from the same loads

Company drivers, owner-operators and contractors are paid from the loads they hauled, with deductions on the statement and nothing retyped from dispatch.

Sample data

Pay that drivers can read and you can defend

Driver settlements

Build each driver’s settlement from the loads they delivered in the period, review it, and approve it when it is right.

Pay statements

Every settlement produces a pay statement that shows each load and each deduction, so drivers see how their pay was worked out.

Recurring deductions

Truck and trailer rental, insurance, ELD fees and other recurring charges come off owner-operator statements on a schedule you set.

Fuel chargebacks

Fuel bought on your cards by an owner-operator is charged back on their statement, from the same fuel data you use for IFTA.

Contractor pay and QuickPay

Pay contractors from the same tools. With QuickPay a carrier can ask to be paid sooner for the fee you agreed, and the fee is recorded as income.

Driver expenses

On Plus, record driver expenses from a photo of the receipt. Receipt scanning reads the details for you to check.

Company drivers and owner-operators, side by side

Most fleets have both. Company drivers get a settlement and a pay statement on every plan. On Essentials, owner-operators get their own statements with recurring deductions and fuel chargebacks, and contractor pay runs alongside them, so one office pays everyone on the same schedule.

Settlements come from delivered loads, so the miles, loads and rates on a statement are the ones dispatch recorded. When a driver questions a statement, you can point to the load behind every line.

Paying the money

TruckerPro works out what each person is owed and records the payment. You pay the way you do today: cheque, your bank’s online banking, or on Plus a CPA-005 EFT file for contractor pay runs that you upload to your Canadian bank.

Company drivers who are employees need payroll source deductions. That is the Advanced plan’s Canadian payroll, which adds CPP, EI, QPIP and income tax, PD7A remittances and T4 slips.

How it works

A settlement run, start to finish

  1. 1

    Close the period

Delivered loads for the period are ready to settle, by driver or owner-operator.

  2. 2

    Apply deductions

Recurring deductions and fuel chargebacks are added to owner-operator statements.

  3. 3

    Review and approve

Check each statement, adjust what needs adjusting, then approve it.

  4. 4

    Pay and share

Pay the way you choose, record it, and give each driver their pay statement.

Questions, answered

Which plan includes settlements?

Driver settlements and pay statements are on every plan. Owner-operator statements with recurring deductions and fuel chargebacks, contractor pay and QuickPay start on Essentials. Driver expenses with receipt scanning start on Plus.

Does TruckerPro pay my drivers?

No. TruckerPro calculates and records pay and produces statements. You pay drivers through your bank, by cheque, or on Plus by uploading a CPA-005 file to your Canadian bank.

What is QuickPay?

An arrangement where a carrier is paid sooner than your normal terms in return for a fee you agreed. TruckerPro tracks the request and records the fee as income.

Do settlements handle payroll taxes for employee drivers?

Settlements alone do not. Canadian payroll source deductions for employees are on the Advanced plan.
